Q&A

QUESTION: This may sound like an odd question, but is there such a thing as non-alcoholic wine?  I know there is non-alcoholic beer and sparkling ciders/juice substitute for Champagne - does this exist, and if so dou your Wine Guys have it at their store? (Melissa from Fox Lake, IL)

ANSWER: Yes, there are several non-alcoholic wines available.  In fact, the wines are de-alcoholized (the alcohol is removed from the wine).  Stop in and see us, and we will help you with your non-alcoholic selections.

QUESTION: If you get a wine that is too strong - are there things you can add to it?  Sugar?  Juice?  Water?  Or do you just need a new bottle of wine? (Jaime from Marengo, IL)

ANSWER: A wine-maker might cringe at this question (and possibly our answer).  I guess the quick answer is to drink what you like, so if you want to add something to your wine, and like it - go ahead.  You can make homemade Sangria by adding fruit to your wines (many recipes are available online).  I have even heard of people adding some Sprite to their wines.  If the wine is too strong for you, you might want to try some lighter or lower alcohol wines.  Feel free to stop in, or attend wine tastings, to try to find the style that most suits you.

QUESTION: What is your favorite bottle of wine?  What kind is it and how much does it cost?  (Mark from Buffalo Grove)

ANSWER:  It is hard to identify a favorite when we have the opportunity to taste so many varieties of wine.  Larry collecs BV Latour (around $100) and Jekel Sanctuary (around$30).  Steve loves many of the French wines (he has worked at a French restuarant for many years).  Adam (who is your neighbor in Buffalo Grove Mark) is fond of German wines.
